Ringside Mentors

The Approved Mentor List was established at the request of the American Kennel Club. Ringside mentors help educate aspiring judges in our breed and is one of the approved learning tools for judges to use when applying for additional breeds. For the SCA National, ringside mentors will be selected by the SCA Board from the list of Approved Mentors. A person may not be a ringside mentor at a National for two consecutive years. AKC permits parent clubs to determine their own rules to establish an approved mentor list. To be placed on SCA’s Approved Mentor List one must complete three requirements.

1. Be a member of the Samoyed Club of America
2. Have been actively showing Samoyeds in conformation for a minimum of 12 years.
3. Attend an Approved Mentor Seminar.

Applications are normally completed after attending the seminar and will be approved by the Judges Education Committee. The SCA Approved Mentor List will be maintained by the Judges Education Committee and will be included on the SCA and AKC web sites. For additional information contact the Chair, Judges Education Committee.
